Home office – our recipe for success
The entire workflow team has been working from the home office for almost a year. Despite initial hurdles, we definitely made the best of this situation and were able to celebrate numerous successes. In this blog post we reveal our home office recipe for success.
Virtual business breakfast
Every 2-3 weeks the entire workflow team meets for a joint virtual business breakfast. Each department is given the space to report on news, successes or challenges. Especially in the current situation it is important to see how the work of every individual contributes to the overall success. Additionally, it is always nice to hear from colleagues you don’t work with on a daily basis.
Daily “Stand-Up” meetings
In the daily so-called “Stand-Up meetings”, the team members within each departments discuss the current to-dos. The meeting ideally lasts 20 to 30 minutes and offers colleagues the opportunity to briefly ask questions or coordinate projects. We scheduled our meeting for 9:00 a.m. which is a pleasant way to start a busy working day.
Fit2Work program
At the end of last year, we received an offer from Fit2work to take part in their program “Company advice for a healthy work life balance”, which we gratefully accepted. Our employees had the opportunity to get support, absolutely anonymous coaching sessions to discuss professional or personal issues individually. In addition, there will be workshops in the coming weeks in which our colleagues will work out strategies together on how they can maintain or even increase their ability to work in future.
Personal appraisal interviews
Communication is particularly important in uncertain times. It is important to us to maintain an open dialogue with our employees and to speak openly about challenges, fears and goals. This way can we develop our full potential together and develop further. For this reason, we arranged in person meetings with every employee. In compliance with strict measures, such as prior testing, setting up Plexiglas partitions and wearing FFP2 masks, it was an incredible pleasure to see everyone in person again.
Surprise in the mail
Our team has already received a little surprise in the post twice. We grew cress “together”, painted Easter eggs and ate Christmas cookies.
Our conclusion – look into the future
Let’s see what surprises this year will bring. In any case, we will include the option of working from home as an integral part of our corporate culture and allow our employees to work flexibly.
